A hand-set dry stone wall built to hold a sloped garden bed in place and let water drain freely instead of pooling against the foundation.
Before
After
A properly built dry stone wall can last for decades with little to no maintenance required. This wall needed refurbishing because it wasn’t built properly; many of the stones were kicking loose and teetering over. It also lacked gravel backfill, creating drainage issues. The structure was failing and creating a safety hazard.
We carefully rebuilt the wall using the existing stones and an extra 5 tons of handpicked rocks, properly backfilled with gravel, and created a solidified structure. Despite heavy Oregon downpours, and the resident dog chasing squirrels along the wall, no rocks will budge.
